STRUCTURE OF THE ARTICLE

AND THE RULES FOR PREPARING THE TRANSLATION

Article title (in English)

Initials and surnames of authors (in English)

Official name of organization, city, state (in English)

Abstract in English. Volume 2000‒2500 characters. The abstract should be clear and informative (without general phrases), original, meaningful (reflects the main content of the article), structured (as one paragraph of the text, preserves the sequence of description of the results in the article), “English-language” (written in high-quality English language). The abstract should contain an introductory sentence, a brief description of the methods of conducting research (1‒2 sentences), a description of the main results (50‒70% of the volume of the abstract) and concise conclusions or prospects for further research (1 sentence). The terminology of the text is the language of specialized international English-language journals. Abstract reveals the content of the article, makes it understandable without familiarizing with the article. Use an active rather than passive pledge (“The study tested”, not “It was tested in this study”). International databases to which your article will be published after its publication in the journal, translate and translate nothing, they will accept any variants of your surname, initials, organization names, specified in the article, even with errors.

Keywords: 6-8 words (phrases), none of which duplicate words from the title of the article.

Postal address: Name of organization, street and house, City and index, Country (in English).

Title of the article (in Ukrainian or Russian)

Initials and surnames of authors

Official name of organization, city, state

Ukrainian or Russian abstract (according to the language of the article). The volume is about 2000-2500 characters. Requirements are the same as for the English annotation.

Keywords: 4‒6 words (phrases), none of which duplicates words from the title of the article..

When registering an article, please observe the following rules. The volume of the article ‒ from 15 to 30 pages, Times New Roman, 14 pt, line spacing ‒ 1,5, fields ‒ 2 cm, sheet A4. Text materials are prepared in the editor MS Word (*.doc), mathematical formulas and equations ‒ in the embedded editor of the equations. Uses the units of the International Measurement System.

The title of the article briefly informs about its contents, contains no more than 12 words, is interesting for the international audience. The experimental article contains the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Research Methods, Results, Discussions, Conclusions, References. The review article may have different numbers of sections with arbitrary names, but the presence of Conclusions and References is mandatory.

Tables and figures are numbered according to the content of the article. The statistical and other details are given below the table in the notes. Table and illustrative materials are placed in the text of the manuscript immediately after the first mention of them. All elements of the text in images (graphs, charts, diagrams), if possible, should have the Times New Roman headset.

An article returned after revision later than a month is considered as a new entry. The editorial board reserves the right to correct and reduce the text. The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the content of the submitted materials.

References in the text are based on the model (Surname, year), for example: one author ‒ (Vinson, 1997), two authors ‒ (Vargo & Laurel, 1994; Vargo & Hulsey, 2000), three and more authors ‒ (Jones et al., 1978; Davis et al., 1989).

Introduction

The introduction reveals the relevance, research of the problem in the world of scientific literature (at least 15 references to English articles in international journals over the past 5 years). At the end of the introduction is characterized by the purpose of the article (hypothesis), formulated before the start of the study.

The purpose of the study (Aims) ‒ succinctly indicate the main result, the achievement of which is aimed at research, intermediate tasks. The purpose does not duplicate the title of the article.

Material and methods of research

The section should be able to repeat the entire scope of research to verify the data received by the author of the article, to create a coherent idea that he knows all possible sources of errors that would affect the results of research data. The section, if necessary, is divided into divisions. In the theoretical article the theoretical background of the research, concepts, the formulas, equations, and also personal methods of the author are revealed.

Results

The section, if necessary, is divided into divisions. Requirements for writing this section are general, as well as for all international scientific publications. The experimental or theoretical data obtained during the study, without their interpretation, are given. Drawings (graphs, diagrams, diagrams), tables are used.

Results and Discussions can not be combined into one common section of the article.

Discussion

In the discussion, interpret, summarize the results, compare them with 10-20 results from other researchers in solving similar problems.

The disadvantages that often occur in the original originals and which should be avoided.

Let's pay attention to the authors!

  1. The Latin names of the genera and species are in italics, the author's surname and the year of the description of the species ‒ in the usual font.
  2. Do not enter a reference to a table or a drawing as a separate sentence.
  3. Avoid sentences of “superfluous” words, sentences of complicated constructions, large in volume of fragments of the text.
  4. Use SI units of measurement: without dots (t, m, g, ha, mol), and non-standardized units ‒ with abbreviations (ex./m2, etc.).
  5. Be sure to distinguish the characters “‒” (dash), “‒” (hyphen), “—”. The third of them is not used in manuscripts.
  6. Often there is an excessive word “was”, although without it the content of the sentence does not change.
  7. The article does not use the reduction of scientific terms.
  8. Thematic names of tables and drawings (notes to them) should be “exhaustive”. The reader should not re-read the “Material and Methods of Research”, or the title of the article, in order to understand the contents of the table or figure, to determine the repetition of the research and to find the information given after the plus/minus: standard error, mean square deviation or error (SE, SD or m).
  9. Do not use passive pledges in the text: “samples were taken” instead of “samples were taken”.
  10. The article may be rejected by reviewers due to the lack of proper statistical processing of the primary data.
  11. The charts are executed in such a way that they are subject to editing.

Conclusions

Conclusions ‒ 5‒10 sentences, it is better to provide a solid text. Provide the main ideas of the article, demonstrate their novelty, focus on the practical application of the result, suggest directions for further research.

Acknowledgments

Credits, if necessary, shall be submitted after the conclusions before the bibliographic references.

References

The list of literary references is given in alphabetical order, and not in the order of mention in the text (the total number of references ‒ not less than 30 for original work and not less than 100 ‒ for the review).

The description of the article is made by all authors, without reducing their number. The list of references is based on the requirements of the American Psychological Association's APA, with the doi indexes, available at www.crossref.org.

The procedure for reviewing articles

The journal “Agrology” uses Double-blind peer review submitted on the specialization of the article: neither the authors nor the reviewers do not know each other.

The editorial board determines the compliance of the journal's profile with the requirements for registration, sends it for review to a doctor or a candidate of sciences, which is close to the subject of the article scientific specialization. The editor-in-chief within three working days informs the authors about the receipt of the electronic version of the article by the editorial board. The terms of review in each particular case are determined taking into account the employment of reviewers for the fastest publication of the article (usually one to two weeks). The review notes the following aspects of future publication:

– correspondence of the content of the article with its heading;

– how much the article corresponds to the modern achievements of science;

– whether an article is available to researchers from the point of view of language, style, location of material, tables, drawings, etc.;

– is it expedient to publish an article in the context of literature previously issued on this issue;

– what specifically attracts attention; shortcomings of the article; corrections and additions to be made by the author;

– conclusion on the possibility of publishing the manuscript: “recommended”, “recommended in the light of corrections and deficiencies noted by the reviewer” or “not recommended”.

In case of rejection of the article, the editorial board sends the author a motivated rejection.

An article not recommended by the reviewer prior to publication is not considered for the second time.

The presence of a positive review is not a sufficient condition for the publication of the article. The final decision on the expediency of publication is taken by the editorial board. The editor-in-chief informs the author (s) about her conclusion; for a positive decision specifies the terms of publication and payment.
